Starving Swarms

Starving Swarms

Life gets tough for honey bees at this time of year, in the dry dearth of northern CA ranchlands. We've been visited by three tiny swarms in just the past two weeks, coming to our yard, seeking food and shelter. They land on scraggly twigs of tarweed until we offer them an enticing home in a nuc box, provisioned with pollen & honey. Glad we're there to assist!
