This morning we noticed our backyard Black Sage blooming. Seems so early, and yet, everything seems early this spring. Sitting on the ground alongside the dainty purple whorls we saw numerous native bees flying about, yet few alighting. Soon our "girls" will be coming home from the almond orchards and feasting on Mt. Diablo sage nectar. Yet the flow is always a bit uncertain, one highly dependent upon rainfall and temperature.
Fingers crossed that this will be a great Black Sage year!
